British Banjo Mandolin and Guitar Federatiom
We ae the UK federation for plucked strings and have been supporting players for over 100 years.
Every year we run a Summer School and every other year we hold the Festival.
We also run the British Fretted
Orchestra for mandolins, mandolas, guitars and double bass (BFO).
The British Fretted Orchestra is the UK’s national plucked string orchestra that has the aim of producing a new performance each year. We welcome new players, the main requirements are a willingness to play with others and an ability to read music

Summer School
Our annual weekend of learning, with classes to suit all our instruments. There is a course that will suit all members; generally there is an orchestral class, a banjo class and one more informal mixed-instrument class.
Festival
Every other year we hold a Festival where players and orchestras can get together to enjoy each others music. The Festival is a very social event with lots of workshops, performance showcases and cons, together with great performances from guest tutors and performers. Yes there is a bar.
